I feel it is necessary, very necessary.
Besides the fact that he was by far the best candidate in the race and probably the best candidate the United States has had in a long time. Barack Obama is our Martin Luther King. And when I say our I don’t mean black people I just mean people of all colors of this generation.
This generation has been in desperate need of a major leader and President-elect Barack Obama is that leader. Our generation has been going astray for years and a leader like him and the platform he is presenting is so futuristic. He is talking about paying for every students education if they volunteer to serve their nation in some form. That is revolutionary. Plus so much more… I could really go on and on about his platform…
Specifically for black people, his presidency will adjust the mindset of our people. Barack Obama’s presidency allows us to think beyond the block, beyond the hustlers mentality of do whatever comes easy, beyond sports and entertainment, so many more of us can now know it is ok to reach in whatever direction we want to reaching. You want to be an Aerospace Engineer, you want to work at NASA NOTHING is no longer beyond black people. It will not happen overnight but it will happen… trust me 
We now have a real life family to look at! I mean, he is a black man who is married to his wife, obviously loves his wife and he has two beautiful daughters. The disease that has been plaguing us where we have been prone to being baby mothers and fathers now we have a role model beyond that. I sincerely mean no offense to those that are baby mothers or fathers but we now have an example of a functioning black family as THE FIRST FAMILY!!
All the crap they throw at our generation on TV, in video games and movies. All the violence and negativity. This now must be adjusted. Of course there is a place for it all – I am not gonna front and say that I don’t like a good gangster flick – but the over saturation of our generation and the “dumbing down” of a generation must now slow down!
When I dropped my first album, in doing various press interviews with journalists and radio personalities etc, in more than a few occasions I felt like the fact that I demonstrated clear intelligence, a sense of accomplishment, a sense of consciousness, smarts and was well read and spoken was off putting to them. It was like they felt it was strange to encounter a rapper that displayed all of these qualities not to mention I’m a black kid. Some of course embraced it while many others seemed to want to challenge my intellect to see if was for real. Well whatever! It is now cool to be intelligent, accomplished, polished, smart, well spoken, well read and visionary!
President Barack Obama has given this whole world new energy! LET’S GO!!!
