“The INtro” is, of course, the introduction to the album putting the Hip Hop community on notice about Jair Dynast’s objective as a creative and passionate Hip Hop mind. The track also serves as a reminder to artists and music industry professionals alike that they are responsible and accountable for the music, ideas and images they release to the masses. “Incapable of living where you glorify, invincible entertainment comes alive/Now you stuck ingesting bullets family horrified” In every bar of the song, you’ll notice the use of words beginning with the word “IN”. Thus the title “The INtro”, a song I really wanted to set the tone for the whole LP.
“V.I.A.L.E.N.C.E.” is my debut solo offering to the world of Hip Hop. For me, it serves the dual purpose of introducing Jair Dynast – who he is and where he is from – to the world and to provide social commentary on the society in which we live. The misspelling of violence is used to illustrate an acronym “Vicious Ignorance Amounts to Little Except Negative Consequences N’ Expression”.
I chose this acronym because I feel that a lot of the negativity in our society is rooted in ignorance. This ignorance often becomes vicious due to the extenuating circumstances many of us are faced with because of our race, class and/or status in society. Often this vicious ignorance expresses itself through violence against people in the very same situation we are fighting to escape, see track No. 2 for an illustration.
In the following chapters, I try to provide some insight as to my state of mind and why I wrote and recorded what you hear on the album. I thought this was something fans of the music would enjoy and find interesting as I know for myself when I pick up albums I often wonder what goes through the artists’ mind that causes them to create the work they do.
Overall, my main intentions with this album are very basic. I want to reach out and affect some sort of change amongst people who come from the same situations I have gone through and/or illustrate.
Hopefully after hearing the album, I would have already reached one and possibly many more.
